This week in Links
Somehow it is October. Unsure as to how this happened, but seems like much of this year has been a motion blur, followed quickly by the buzzing growl of the engine close behind. I suppose there is some truth to it then, that old notion: "The older you get, the faster time goes." Hmmm. Not sure I like that.
A few things to distract you from the work you're supposed to be doing. A list of the top 50 Dystopian movies of all time. The list strays from the formula a little and yes there are both good films and bad, but it is worth a look if you have any interest in the genre. Also, the Southland Tales trailer is up at Yahoo. I'm not really sure what to think of it, but after "Donnie Darko", I figure I'll give Richard Kelly the benefit of the doubt for now. "Into the Wild" opens in Canada this coming week and it's a film I am looking forward to for a great number of reasons. Here is an NPR interview with author John Krakauer and here is an article on Sean Penn discussing his journey of getting the film made.
Enjoy.
