What You're Ready For wins Best Short Film at the 2008 Alberta Film and Television Awards

"What You're Ready For", the second chapter in Corey Lee's short film trilogy, won the award for Best Short Film at the 2008 edition of the Alberta Film & Television Awards, held in Edmonton on April 26th.
The film, nominated for a total of six awards, is adapted from the 2003 Giller Prize finalist collection, Kilter: 55 Fictions, by the wonderfully talented John Gould. Based on the story of the same name, "What You're Ready For" tells of an emotionally devastated man who seeks truth in the words of the charismatic self-help guru who stole his wife. The film features multiple Gemini Award winning actor, Michael Riley, Vancouverite Stephen Park, and Calgary based performers, Shelley Kinaschuk and Chantal Perron.
Chapter one in the trilogy, "The Perfection of the Moment", won this same award in 2006 and went on to collect more accolades and screen at a variety of festivals. The final film of the Kilter Trilogy, "In Translation", starring Vincent Gale and Simone-Elise Girard, is in the process of being completed and will begin it's festival run later this year.
"What You're Ready For" was made possible by the generous support of Bravo!FACT, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, ACTRA Alberta, Panavision Calgary, MTM, joeMedia Group, Six Degrees and Studio Post.
