Perfection wins at the Southern Alberta Film Festival





Filmmaker Corey Lee's short film, "The Perfection of the Moment", picked up the Audience Favourite Award at the first ever Southern Alberta Film Festival on Saturday October 17th, 2009 in Fort MacLeod, AB at the fabulous Empress Theatre.

The short film, the first in Lee's Kilter trilogy, is adapted from author John Gould's Giller Prize short-listed, kilter: 55 fictions. Previously, "The Perfection of the Moment", has won the Best Short Film prize at the 2006 Alberta Film & Television Awards, the Reel Canadian Indie Award at the 2007 Canadian Filmmakers Festival, the 2007 MING Short Film Festival Grand Prize, and was also invited to the 2007 Festival de Cannes Short Film Market. The film was also selected as a finalist for the 2006 Calgary International Film festival Alberta Centennial Award and for the 2007 edition of the touring program Prairie Tales (9).


"The Perfection of the Moment" was produced with a Bravo!FACT grant, supported by Bravo! NewStyleArtsChannel, and was made possible by the generous support of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. The Southern Alberta Film Festival is presented by the Southern Alberta Art Gallery and SAAG Cinema.
