Film Crew

These are some of the key people involved in "Defining Edward". As shooting progresses, we'll be posting more crew members. You can also view their filmographies on the Internet Movie Database.

Corey Lee - Writer / Director / Producer

Corey has been working in the film industry as a technician in the Grip department since 1993. A graduate of the SAIT film program, Corey has been a part of some of the biggest film projects in Alberta. His credits include LONESOME DOVE, THE EDGE, SNOW DAY, RAT RACE and THE CLAIM. Corey's previous producing experiences led to a nomination for an AMPIA award for "Saturday Girl", a music video for Calgary band Kilgore Trout. In 1993 he also wrote, produced and directed a short dramedy called "Peace and Love". In 1995 Corey stepped out from behind the camera and acted in "Auto-erotic Misadventure", winner of the Calgary Pumphouse Theatre One Act Play Festival.

"Defining Edward" is one of many screenplay ideas that Corey has developed over the last few years. A challenging piece for a first-time feature, "Edward" has all the elements that make a great independent film. Corey's background in visual art (ACAD 87-88) and his strength as a writer are evident in this edgy, vibrant script. The indie film scene is a hard one to be successful in, but Corey's skill and background in the industry make him someone watch for in the near future. "Defining Edward" is a calling card for a bright new talent in Canadian film. Email him at corey@definingedward.com.

Susan Bristow - Producer

After completing the BFA Drama Program at the University of Alberta, Susan performed in various stage productions at such venues as The Citadel Theatre and Workshop West in Edmonton and the Tarragon Theatre in Toronto. In Calgary, she appeared in Sage Theatre's production of LION IN THE STREETS. No stranger to the camera, Susan has also starred in a variety of film projects, including SAMURAI SWING and Donna Brunsdale's 1998 feature film, CHEERFUL TEARFUL.

Susan has been working in the Motion Picture industry since 1997 and has had the opportunity to gain experience in many different departments, but has truly excelled in the areas of Assistant Director and Locations. Her behind the camera credits include, HONEY, I SHRUNK THE KIDS (the series), MYSTERY ALASKA, NORTH OF 60, CATLIN'S WAY, ANATOMY OF A HATE CRIME, THE WAR BRIDE, ARARAT, HEARTLAND GHOST, and most recently, AGENT OF INFLUENCE.

Her sharp instincts, gritty determination and diverse experience in so many aspects of the industry make Susan the perfect engine to drive "Defining Edward" through to it's fruition. You can email Sue at sue@definingedward.com.

Robin Loewen - Cinematographer

Robin has risen quickly through the ranks of the Electrics department in Alberta and has recently made the transition from Chief Lighting Technician to Cameraman, now a member of IATSE 669 as a Director of Photography. An accomplished stills photographer and mountaineer, Robin has worked as the Gaffer on such feature films as, SPEAKING OF SEX, THE CLAIM and TEXAS RANGERS.

Robin has lensed videos for such artists as MAE MOORE, OH SUSANNA and LIN ELDER. He also recently shot and directed second unit on the feature film WHITE LIES.

An extremely focused and talented individual, with a deep understanding of story, Robin has already developed an innovative visual style and looks forward to working with the new Hd 24P technology on "Defining Edward".
