PERFECTION part of Moving Stories Films inaugural program
Moving Stories Films has recently announced its inaugural program lineup for 2008 and the award winning The Perfection of the Moment is part of it. The premiere program, curated by Paul Quarrington, produced by Judith Keenan, with illustrious film advisors Robert Lantos, Sarah Polley, Nino Ricci, Gary Thomas and Anne Collins, will be screened at a number of literary and film events across Canada. The tour starts with THIN AIR: Winnipeg International Writers Festival on September 28th, followed by screenings in the St. John's International Women's Film Festival and Banff-Calgary, Ottawa, and Vancouver International Writers Festivals in October, as well as TINARS Toronto in November. The Perfection of the Moment is based on the story of the same name by author John Gould from his 2003 Giller Prize shortlisted collection, Kilter 55: fictions. The film was awarded the 2006 Alberta Film & Television Best Short Film, the Reel Canadian Indie award from the 2007 Canadian Filmmaker's Festival and the Grand Prize at the 2007 Ming Short Film Festival. It has screened at a variety of film festivals, including Calgary International, Edmonton International and Whistler, and was included as part of Prairie Tales 9, Metro Cinema's 2007 collection of Alberta film and video works. The film was made possible by the generous support of Bravo!FACT, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, ACTRA Calgary, William F. White International, Panavision Calgary, joeMedia Group, Six Degrees and Studio Post.
What You're Ready For in Prairie Tales 10
 It's official: the award winning short film What You're Ready For, written and directed by Corey Lee, will be included in this year's Prairie Tales, the annual touring collection of short film and video works by Alberta filmmakers and media artists. The second film in Lee's Kilter Trilogy recently picked up the award for Best Short Film at the 2008 Alberta Film and Television Awards, after receiving six nominations, and won the Best Alberta Short Film prize at the 2007 Edmonton International Film Festival.The 10th edition of Prairie Tales has just begun it's tour and will be screening next at the North Country Fair in Driftpile, AB this weekend, June 20-22. Next it will be presented at Edmonton's Metro Cinema on Saturday July 12th, 2008 as part of Cinemathon, which will feature various art activites, short film and video works, as well as live music. Prairie Tales 10 is presented by the Metro Cinema Society with support from Canada Council for the Arts, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts and the Alberta Media Arts Alliance Society.

What You're Ready For wins Best Short Film at the 2008 Alberta Film and Television Awards
"What You're Ready For", the second chapter in Corey Lee's short film trilogy, won the award for Best Short Film at the 2008 edition of the Alberta Film & Television Awards, held in Edmonton on April 26th. The film, nominated for a total of six awards, is adapted from the 2003 Giller Prize finalist collection, Kilter: 55 Fictions, by the wonderfully talented John Gould. Based on the story of the same name, "What You're Ready For" tells of an emotionally devastated man who seeks truth in the words of the charismatic self-help guru who stole his wife. The film features multiple Gemini Award winning actor, Michael Riley, Vancouverite Stephen Park, and Calgary based performers, Shelley Kinaschuk and Chantal Perron. Chapter one in the trilogy, "The Perfection of the Moment", won this same award in 2006 and went on to collect more accolades and screen at a variety of festivals. The final film of the Kilter Trilogy, "In Translation", starring Vincent Gale and Simone-Elise Girard, is in the process of being completed and will begin it's festival run later this year. Perfection at the Southern Alberta Art Gallery
 Prairie Tales 9 is winding down, but not wrapped quite yet. The annual touring collection of Alberta short film and video produced by Metro Cinema, in partnership with the Alberta Media Arts Alliance Society, is screening Tuesday April 22nd at 7:30pm at the Southern Alberta Art Gallery, 601 - 3rd Avenue South in Lethbridge, Alberta. Carol Beecher will be introducing the program and discussing her featured animation piece, "Intergalactic Who's Who: The Pork n' Beings".
What You're Ready For nominated for Six Alberta Film and Television Awards
 The 2008 Alberta Film and Television Awards Finalists were released today. "What You're Ready For" has been nominated in a total of six Dramatic categories, including: Best Short Film, Best Director, Best Screenwriter, Best Cinematographer - Robin Loewen, Best Overall Sound - George Tarrant, John Iaquinta & Jonas Hurtig and Best Original Score - Alec Harrison."What You're Ready For" was produced by Corey Lee and Tinu Sinha and made possible by the generous support of Bravo!FACT, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, ACTRA Calgary, Panavision Calgary, MTM, joeMedia Group, Six Degrees and Studio Post.

  Filmmaker Corey Lee's short film "What You're Ready For", the 2nd chapter of his Kilter Trilogy, will screen as part of the 2008 Canadian Film Fest in Toronto, Ontario. The Festival runs March 25th - 29th and "What You're Ready For" screens as part of the Shorts Screening #2 strand at the Carlton Cinemas on Saturday, March 29th at 4:00pm.
