Billy Chau

Billy Chau (Chow) is a former kickboxing champion (trained by my father, Frank Lee), whose lethal kicks made his famous in Hong Kong cinema. He rose through the ranks to become the villian of choice for nearly a decade. Some of his work as the main heavy include Pedicab Driver, where he takes out Sammo Hung in a knock down drag out, and Miracles, where he fights Jackie Chan in a rope factory with JC stuntmen backing him up. My personal fave is Jet Li's redux of Fists of Fury, Fist of Legend.

I grew up watching him train and fight and hadn't seen him for years, but was fortunate enough to spend some time catching up with him while rolling some tape on my father last summer. I recently stumbled onto this great interview with him, broken into four parts, on youtube. The film star and former world champion kickboxer splits his time between Edmonton and Hong Kong, where he runs his own gym.

Two posts. One day.

Craziness.

the latest shoot.

A few photos from the latest shoot.
Hmm... Is he behind the camera or in front of the camera? And who is that woman he's threatening to punch out?
Trick questions, no doubt...

Kudos to the incomparable David Jones for capturing it all.

More soon...
