What You're Ready For nominated for Six Alberta Film and Television Awards



The 2008 Alberta Film and Television Awards Finalists were released today. "What You're Ready For" has been nominated in a total of six Dramatic categories, including: Best Short Film, Best Director, Best Screenwriter, Best Cinematographer - Robin Loewen, Best Overall Sound - George Tarrant, John Iaquinta & Jonas Hurtig and Best Original Score - Alec Harrison.

What You're Ready For at the Canadian Film Fest



Filmmaker Corey Lee's short film "What You're Ready For", the 2nd chapter of his Kilter Trilogy, will screen as part of the 2008 Canadian Film Fest in Toronto, Ontario.

The Festival runs March 25th - 29th and "What You're Ready For" screens as part of the Shorts Screening #2 strand at the Carlton Cinemas on Saturday, March 29th at 4:00pm. For tickets and information visit www.canfilmfest.ca.

The film is adapted from the 2003 Giller Prize nominated collection Kilter: 55 Fictions, by John Gould. Based on the story of the same name, What You're Ready For deals with an emotionally devastated man who seeks truth in the words of the charismatic self-help guru who stole his wife. The film stars multiple Gemini Award winning actor Michael Riley ("Race to Mars", "This is Wonderland") and Stephen Park ("The Englishman's Boy", "Da Vinci's Inquest").

The trilogy's first chapter, "The Perfection of the Moment", won the Reel Canadian Indie Award at the 2007 edition of the Canadian Film Fest, as well as the 2007 MING Short Film Festival Grand Prize and the 2006 Alberta Film and Television Award for Best Short Film after receiving a total of seven nominations. The film went on to screen at a variety of festivals across the country and will air across Canada on Bravo! in the near future.
