The award winning short film and 2nd chapter in the Kilter Trilogy, What You're Ready For, will be screening in the inaugural Show Us Your Shorts film festival, on Saturday March 28th at the Plaza, the program starting at 430pm. The Plaza Theatre is located at 1133 Kensington Rd NW in Calgary. The screening is pay-what-you-can at the door, with a reception to follow at The Yardhouse (directly across the street from the Plaza).

Written and directed by Corey Lee, from the short story by John Gould, the film has collected the award for Best Short Film at the 2008 Alberta Film and Television Awards, after receiving six nominations, and has also won the Best Alberta Short Film prize at the 2007 Edmonton International Film Festival.

The Show Us Your Shorts Fest has events running over the course of three days, Thursday March 26th through Saturday March 28th. More info on their site.

ePmp is pleased to report that filmmaker Corey Lee is instructing filmmaking workshops through the Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers in 2009. Corey and fellow filmmaking professional, Sandi Somers, are the forces behind Filmmakers Boot Camp, an intensive weekend workshop covering all aspects of filmmaking, including a whirlwind hands-on exploration of the process behind the camera and in the editing suite. Filmmakers Boot Camp runs all day Saturday and Sunday, May 23rd & 24th, 10 am - 5pm.
