Prairie Tales 10 at the Plaza - June 7th, Guelph - June 26th


Wrapping up its tenth year tour, Prairie Tales is a collection of Alberta-based film and media artworks curated by Edmonton's Metro Cinema. The program will screen Sunday June 7th at 2pm at the Plaza theatre in Calgary. This year's Calgary screening is presented by the Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers (CSIF), Quickdraw Animation Society and EMMEDIA with the generous support of Kensington's historic Plaza Theatre.

PT 10 will also screen in Guelph on Friday June 26th at 8pm at the Ed Video Media Arts Centre at 40 Baker Street in Guelph, Ontario.

Prairie Tales 10 includes the work of acclaimed Calgary based filmmaker Corey Lee ("What You're Ready For"). Also in the program, works by James Reckseidler, animators Kevin D.A. Kurytnik and Carol Beecher, Chris Melnychuk, Daniel Dugas and others.

Alec Harrison wins for IN TRANSLATION



Composer Alec Harrison picked up the award for BEST ORIGINAL MUSICAL SCORE DRAMA at the 2009 Alberta Film & Television Awards, for the final kilter film, In Translation. Alec composed scores for all three award winning Kilter films and splits his time between Six Degrees Music & Production and his own Red Shift Studios.

Congrats, Alec! Well deserved.

the Kilter Trilogy films: part 1 & 2 online at Bravo! Canada



The first two films in Corey Lee's Kilter Trilogy are now available to view online at Bravo! Canada. The award winning short films, The Perfection of the Moment, with Joel McNichol and Gillian Carfra and What You're Ready For starring Michael Riley and Stephen Park, were recently featured on Bravo!FACT Presents.


The episode entitled, "Adaptations", also features Pavane by true Canadian Renaissance man, Paul Quarrington, as well as Daryl Cloran's political satire P.M.O.. Click here to watch. For more on the Kilter films, punch here.
